As a Community of Practice of the Work that Reconnects, Gaia Speaking is engaged in various activities that allow us, generation of the Great Turning, to reconnect with our belonging to this Earth and take steps towards our purpose as agents of transformation.

Workshops for NGOs and schools.
Joanna Tomkins designs and facilitates spiral workshops for NGOs and schools, incorporating and adapting WTR group exercises and rituals for different social and eco projects. These encourage children and adults to regain a sense of belonging to this world and to restore kinship, wholeness and purpose as they dive deeper into the Great Turning.

Gaia Speaking is registered as the South African Regional Hub for the Work that Reconnects.

We also offer mentorship and guidance if you would like to train as a Work that Reconnects facilitator, in South Africa or other countries of Southern Africa.

Artwork that Reconnects
In person workshops or weekend retreats facilitated in South Africa. Based on the Spiral of the Work that Reconnects. These collective workshops use Art to constellate the stages of the Spiral through the creation of individual and collective artwork. in plastic/visual arts. Workshops also include other creative formats like, poetry, writing, movement, nature immersion, ritual, sharing, etc will reconnect you with the Web of Life and plant in you the seeds of interbeing, joy and resilience for these turning Times.

Join us in honouring and expressing our grief for the world, in these beautiful, tender rituals: ‘The Truth Mandala’ and ‘The Cairn of Mourning’
While grief is not usually an emotion that is welcomed in our society, deep grief is a way for us to be present for the world, and to come into our full authentic power.

These Councils have been held around the world since the 1980s in this format, to give voice to the more than human beings in the Great Turning/Great Unravelling.
By embodying them through a mask making process, these beings can offer us an opportunity to journey through the Spiral with them.
