Please scroll down for our past events in the second half of 2024

This month our Gaia Speaking offer combines two events. Some of you have experienced the collective power of the Spiral of the Work that Reconnects whilst attending our song circles, so you might be curious to experience the Spiral in depth in this classical format, where we will work with some of the most original and foundational practices of the WTR, with a full day immersion in Scarborough, facilitated by Rachael Duffy and Joanna Tomkins. And our 2 hour monthly song circle will also take place, at the Samhitakasha cob house, a special space in the heart of Muizenberg.

The challenges of these times are very real. What do we do when we know the systems and human constructs we are a part of are life-threatening rather than life-enhancing?

How do we navigate the grief, anger, and despair we feel in response to what’s happening both in our natural world, and to our fellow brothers and sisters around the world.

The Work that Reconnects inspires us to see the world from a wider perspective, turning our grief into meaningful action and empowering us to offer ourselves to this Earth with clarity, love, and intention.

Together in this 1-day immersion we will strengthen our resilience for these uncertain times as we move through the Spiral of the Work that Reconnects—beginning with Gratitude, then Honouring Our Pain for the World, Seeing with New and Ancient Eyes, and Going Forth.

This Work is pioneered by root teacher Joanna Macy and draws on ancient spiritual traditions, deep ecology and systems thinking. For more information on the origins of the Work see https://gaiaspeaking.com/wtr-south-africa/

Join us for this heart-felt immersion that will help you restore your sense of purpose and possibility to address the complex nature of our times.

Join us on Wednesday 21st August 6 – 8pm for Songs that Reconnect at the Samhitakasha cob house in Muizenberg (address will be provided upon booking).

These gatherings offer an opportunity to acknowledge the power of our collective voice. In these times of uncertainty, one thing we do know is that we can sing. We can sing from the wholeness of our emotional body, expressing the full scope of our power, and we can sing for our wider ecological body, Earth.
